With spring in full swing and summer just over the horizon, it’s the perfect time of year to start planning a little trip away. For lavishness on a high-rise scale there’s no better than the sophisticated Crown Towers. Fans of the left-field should look no further than St. Jerome’s – The Hotel. Plonked on the roof of Melbourne Central Shopping Centre in the heart of the CBD, the hotel is comprised of 21 plush bell tents kitted out with all the fittings you’d expect of any luxe-lodging. The 360-degree cityscape is pretty tantalising too!

A longstanding favourite with backpackers and surfers, Byron Bay is arguably one of NSW’s top beauty spots. Nestled on the tip of Cape Byron, it’s a short jaunt from the headland’s famous lighthouse, a majestic viewpoint that offers breathtakingly romantic panoramas of the Pacific. If you’re after a strictly oriental affair, set off into the hinterland for a stay the Japanese-inspired Azabu.

Outback in the wilderness

Sometimes holidaying is all about satisfying the urge to get as far away from the madding crowd as is humanly possible. When it comes to finding remote luxury escapes, NSW has a sprawling outback that’s just waiting to be discovered. Set on the state’s border with Victoria, Broken Hill is home to one of the world’s largest mines.

Not only is it the first Australian town to receive National Heritage status, it’s also has a thriving arts community too. For accomodation that emphasises sheer relaxation, there’s no better place than the Broken Hill Church. As you’ve probably guest, it’s a luxury dwelling housed in an immaculately restored 1911 Romanesque church. We have to confess, it’s hard not to preach the perks of such a unique and idyllic location.

A bon vivant’s paradise

Calling all gastronomes and fans of the grape, this could be the perfect plan for your next long weekend away. It’s no secret that some of Australia’s best wine comes from the South Highlands, making it a must-visit destination if you’re partial to the fruits of viticulture! Bacchanalian boasts aside, the region is renowned for its gorgeous scenery. Rolling hills that gently undulate for miles on end reflect the highland’s laidback pace.

Do Downtown Abbey Aussie style and stop for a stately stay at Milton Park. A veritably regal country house with its very own estate, this residence has a rich history that can be traced back to the early 1900s. As well as spa facilities, Milton also has a collation of high-end eateries to sate your appetite! Only a mere 90 minutes drive from both Sydney and Canberra, it’s easily one of the most accessible destinations on this list.
